My name is Darren Companion and I’m running to be Greater Victoria School District 61 Trustee for the District of Saanich, Zone #6.

I have been involved in public education my entire life! As a student of the public education system, then as an educator for 27 years in Victoria, and now as a parent.

Previously, I was First Vice President of the Greater Victoria Teachers Association, where I represented teachers and other school staff at the District Occupational Health and Safety Committee and at the contract bargaining table.

During my time as an educator, I also facilitated workshops on workplace Health and Safety through the BC Teachers Federation for teachers from across the province. I also volunteered for the District advisory committees on issues such as professional development and social justice.
